Scholz Recycling GmbH appoints additional board member


 

· Dr. Gerd Hähne appointed Chief Executive Officer for Germany/Poland unit of Scholz Recycling GmbH with immediate effect

 

Scholz Group (“Scholz” or “the Group”), a leading European scrap recycler and one of the largest recycling companies for ferrous and non-ferrous metal worldwide, today announced that Dr. Gerd Hähne has been appointed as Board Member of Scholz Recycling GmbH with immediate effect. Dr. Hähne will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Germany/Poland unit and will continue to accompany his current position, but due to the importance of the role now as Board Member.

 

Dr. Hähne has been with Scholz Group for approximately 25 years, holding various leadership responsibilities. He was Board Member of Scholz Recycling AG & Co.KG and is responsible for division nonferrous including stainless steel. He is Managing Director of several subsidiaries such as Rohstoff-Recycling Verwaltung GmbH in Lauchhammer, EKO Schrottrecycling GmbH in Eisenhüttenstadt and Scholz Polska Sp. z o.o. in Bedzin/Poland. Henry Qin, CEO of Scholz Recycling GmbH: “With Dr. Hähne we are gaining for the management board an excellent market expert who is also a renowned Scholz manager. In recent years he played already an invaluable role for the realignment of the Group. I am very pleased that Dr. Hähne decided to continue this work in an executive position in our Group.”
